HomeAbout the site
Megatfo is a collection of free games that run in an ordinary web browser, made for children from about four to twelve and for the grown-ups who sit next to them. The name is simply the site's address, megatfo.com, said as one word.
The games cover the things primary children practise every week: number bonds and sums, times tables, fractions, decimals and percents, shapes and angles, spelling, sentences, early reading, and first words in French. A few are just for careful looking and remembering. The Story Corner has short stories to read aloud, and the Listen and Read player reads a text while each word lights up.
Every game page has a section called "For grown-ups" underneath. It explains what the game practises, how to make it easier or harder, and how to play a version with cards, paper or things from the kitchen drawer, because the best practice often happens away from a screen. Longer pieces for parents and teachers live in For grown-ups.
Five writers look after the grown-up notes: Tobias Quarrie on everyday math, Maud Harcastle on early reading and writing, Gaëtan Arsenault on French at home, Adaeze Morrow on learning through play, and Greer Bramwell on ideas for classrooms. You can read more about each of them on the writers page.
Some articles for grown-ups, and the Backpack page of books and learning tools, carry a clearly marked shop box. If a grown-up buys through one of those links, Megatfo may earn a small commission. Those boxes are never shown on a game, the games page or the Story Corner, and they never change what the notes say.
If a question has a wrong answer, a game will not start on your device, or you would like a word list added, please write to us. Fixes go straight into the game.
